Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish his employees a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, on or about 9/30/99, employees working at 1305 West 43rd Street, Wheat Ridge, Colorado were exposed to falling load hazards and/or the hazards of machine tip-over, when the sling was not properly rigged in a manner to ensure load stability and control. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be to utilize the use of lift bolts to control movement of the sling on the load. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").-Certification
