Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being pinned by wooden beams. The employer did not ensure that there was eye contact with the operator feeding the beam and the receiver nor was there a kill switch to automatically shut down the operation: Planer Room - On or about 2/21/2008 an employee was pinned by a wooden beam resulting in injuries.
