STANDARD SECTIONS OF THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATIONS
(NFPA) CODES ON ALUMINUM PROCESSING AND OR FINISHING INCLUDING BUT
NOT LIMITED TO DESIGN, STRENGTH, FIRE PROTECTION, AND DUCT WORK.
a)  NFPA STANDARD NUMBER 65, CHAPTER 5. FIRE PROTECTION,  THE EMPLOYER
DID NOT PROVIDE A CLASS D TYPE FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN THE STOCK
PREPARATION AREA AND OR COLLECTION AREA WHERE METAL DUSTS
(ALUMINUM) WERE PRESENT.
b)  NFPA STANDARD NUMBER 91, SECTION 205, THE EMPLOYER DID NOT PROVIDE
COMPLETE WORKING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ON THE TORRIT 20-5FB55 DUST
COLLECTION  SYSTEM AND DUCT WORK INSTALLED AT THE CLAIR MACHINE
BRAND BUFFING AND OR POLISHING PROCESS WITH ALUMINUM PLATES.
c)  NFPA STANDARD NUMBER 91, SECTION 234, TORRIT BRAND DUST
COLLECTION SYSTEM NUMBER 20-5FB55, THE EMPLOYER DID NOT PROVIDE
METAL HANGERS AND OR BRACKETS TO SUPPORT THE DUCT SYSTEM.
d)  NFPA STANDARD NUMBER 91, SECTION 320, THE EMPLOYER DID NOT MEET
THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT FOR DIAMETER AND GAUGE OF THE METAL
WHERE A MINIMUM OF AN 8" DIAMETER AND A 24 GAUGE IS REQUIRED ON THE
MANIFOLD TO THE INTAKE SECTIONS OF DUCT WORK ON THE TORRIT 20-5FB55
COLLECTION SYSTEM.
e)  NFPA STANDARD NUMBER 91, SECTION 252, THE EMPLOYER DID NOT PROVIDE
METAL STRAPS AT DUCT CONNECTION POINT(S) TO ENSURE AN EFFECTIVE BOND
BETWEEN SECTIONS OF THE DUCT WORK ON THE TORRIT 20-5FB55 COLLECTION
SYSTEM.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT
METHOD TO CORRECT THESE HAZARDS IS TO HAVE THE TORRIT BRAND
COLLECTION SYSTEM, 20-5FB55 AND ATTACHED DUCT WORK MEET THE
REQUIREMENTS OF THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATIONS CODES FOR
ALUMINUM POLISHING AND BUFFING SYSTEMS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED
TO THE FOLLOWING PLANNING, DESIGN, SPECIFICATION, FIRE PROTECTION,
SUPPORT, AND STATIC ELECTRICAL BONDING.AL

INFORMATION ON TESTING OF THE REQUIREMENT TO KEEP A VELOCITY OF 4500
FEET PER MINUTE.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT
METHOD WOULD BE TO RELOCATE THE DRY-TYPE DUST COLLECTOR SYSTEM
OUTDOORS AS PER SECTION 24 AND TO TEST AND VERIFY THAT THE VELOCITY
MET THE REQUIREMENT OF SECTION 22 OF THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION
ASSOCIATIONS STANDARD FOR FINISHING OF ALUMINUM.
