Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: IMPROPERLY RIGGED 1/2" WIRE ROPE GUY/PLUMB LINES IN THAT ONLY ONE WIRE ROPE CROSBY CLIP WAS INSTALLED WHERE THE MANUFACTURER CALLED FOR THREE CLIPS SPACED AT THREE INCH INTERVALS. ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD OF ABATEMENT WOULD BE TO FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE LISTED ON THE INDIVIDUALLY PACKAGED CLIPS.

ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD OF ABATEMENT WOULD BE TO FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED METHOD OF ERECTION/PLACEMENT AND STORAGE BASED UPON THE STEEL JOIST INSTITUTE TECHNICAL DIGEST NO.9.
