Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish
employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were causing or likely
to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees
were exposed to the toppling of
multiple roof trusses:
(a)  Roof replacement at 6761 West Ridge Road, Fairview, PA;  Employees
were installing
approximately forty foot wood roof trusses.  The bracing was not adequate
to prevent the
trusses from toppling over.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS
HAZARD IS TO FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDATION MADE IN THE BCSI (BUILDING COMPONENT
SAFETY INFORMATION) 1-03 PAMPHLET DELIVERED WITH THE TRUSSES.
