Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall of more than 10ft. Jobsite: The employee working near the edge of the wall was not provided with fall protection. Among other feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct the hazard would be to have employee wear a safety belt with the lanyard attached to a substantial anchorage. Falling hazards are recognized in the industry as a high hazard.
