Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall of approximately 14ft. were not provided with fall protection such as but not limited to safety belts with the lanyard attached to a substantial anchorage. Among other methods,one feasible and acceptable abatement to correct this hazard is to issue safety belts and install a lifeline and to enforce the hooking up of the lanyard to the lifeline. Falls are known to be a high hazard in the construction industry.
