Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: BUILDING 9 AREA OF COLUMN LINE B6-20: Employees exposed to a serious fall hazard of 24 feet and there was no means of personal protective equipment in use. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is to protect employees with a safety belt, lanyard and lifeline, safety nets or equivalent means of personal protective equipment.
