Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Employees exposed to serious fall hazards of up to forty-five feet from a truck mounted articulating boom aerial work device, Hunt Pierce Servi-Lift, Model S35E, serial number 66 on or before 03/20/93. 615 Plains Road, Milford CT: Employees involved in the adjustment of the leveling rods of the Hunt Pierce Servi-Lift Aerial Work Device were thrown to the ground when a manufactured rolled loop and swaged sleeve manufactured eye failed. "Amoung other methods, One feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard" is for the employer to follow the maintenance and inspection procedures described in ANSI A92.2-1979, American National Standard for Vehicle-Mounted Elevating and Rotating Aerial Devices, or any later revision.
