Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a) On or about February 12th, 1997, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard while standing on the side or edge of the semi-trailer box while loading grain/feed and was not provided with any type of fall protection. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be to install a fall protection system (safety harness and lanyard, a platform with guardrails or an equivalent means of protection) to protect employees from falling.s
