Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a) On the main floor, employees were exposed to a potential fall hazard while operating the manually operated manlift due to the lack of a complete car enclosure. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be install a complete car enclosure on the manlift car.ift

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a) At the main elevator and south storage tank unit, employees were exposed to a potential fall hazard while working on top of railroad hopper cars during loading operations due to the lack of fall protection. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be to install some type of fall protection (safety harness with a lanyards, guardrail, or an equivalent means of protection).
