Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment or a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. Employee was pouring batch mix from a pan directly to the milling machine while standing on an unsteady 5-gal pail. Employee used material for the purpose other than what it is designed for. Feasible method of abatement include but not limited to; 1. Provide a steady steel or wooden platform where employee can stand while doing his work. CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM.
