Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment or a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to chemical vapors as a result of a chemical spill, and the employer did not ensure that vapors from the storage tank, as a result of a chemical spill, were exhausted from the building. One feasible method of abatement is a continuous level exhaust controller device with an alarm that prevents vapors from escaping into the work area. CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM.
