General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not provide a place of employment that was free from recognized hazards in that employees were exposed to having their head and torso entrapped between the truck and ground in the event of tip over. Employees operating forklifts did not use the seat belts provided. Among feasible methods to abate this hazard is to comply with the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) Safety Standard for Low Lift and High Lift Trucks, ANSI B56.1- 1988, Section 5.3.19 and wear seat belts at all times operating the truck. NO CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM.
