Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard. (a) Location - Warehouse: On or about 10/22/98, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard while working inside a basket, attached to an industrial lift truck at a height of approximately 15 feet. An acceptable method of abatement would be the attachment of the employee to the basket with a full-body harness and lanyard when the lifting device controls are not accessible to the employee.
