Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Location - Main sales floor, building interior, 246 Independence Way, Danvers, MA: On or about 3/23/99, an employee was exposed to a serious fall hazard of 15 feet while standing on the mid rail of the Shaughnessy scissors lift and having the access mid rail chain unlatched. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable to correct this hazard include, but are not limited to: - To read and follow the operator's manual guidelines for safe use.
