Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed: (a) Location - 65-69 Haverhill Road, Amesbury, Ma: On or before 05/12/99, employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed by a concrete retaining wall collapse resulting from extensive structural cracks in two walls at several locations near parking lot stair areas and propane filling station in yard area. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method would be to repair the structurally damaged walls as per a licensed Structural Engineer's specifications.
