Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Location - Warehouse area: On or before 10/21/99, employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck or crushed by a structural collapse of the rack system. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard are the following: 1. Follow the rack manufacturers drawing and instructions regarding the proper storage and usage. 2. Modify the rack system per the manufactures approval. 3. Inspect and repair damaged racks frequently to prevent a collapse.
