Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck or crushed: (a) Location - Warehouse area: On or before 09/28/00, employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck or crushed by a structural collapse of the rack system. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard are the following: 1. Follow rack manufactures drawings and instruction regarding proper storage, loading and usage. 2. Only modify rack system per manufacturer's approval. 3. Inspect and repair damaged racks frequently to prevent collapse.y
