Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed toslipping hazards while walking and working on a snow and ice covered surface: (a) Location - Jobsite: On or about 1/13/03, an employee while carrying pre-fabricated wood framing slipped and fell while walking on snow and ice. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable to correct this hazard include, but are not limited to: Remove snow and ice and/or sand areas where employees must walk and work.
