Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being injured by a release of pressurized air: (a) Location - Jobsite, 501 Griffin Brook Drive, Methuen, MA: On or about 11/22/03, an employee was exposed to serious injuries while removing the end cap of a 120 p.s.i. air line. Among other methods feasible and acceptable to correct this hazard include, but are not limited to: Develop and implement a standard operating procedure for bleeding a pressurized air line prior to allowing work to proceed.
