Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fractures, strains, and sprains from rotating parts and ingoing pinch points on conveyors: Steel Separator - On or about June 10, 2003, an employee received eleven fractures when the employee's arm became entangled within the conveyor's unguarded pinch point. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to train or instruct employees to maintain safe distances from moving equipment, perform equipment lockout during cleaning and maintenance activities, prevent employees from wearing loose clothing, and follow American National Standard B20.1.rd
