Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of infection with HIV and HBV through direct contact with blood and bodily fluids: %% (a) HBV vaccinations were not provided to all employees throughout the facility whose duties include housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and patient care in a nursing home facility. Feasible and useful abatement methods for reducing the hazard among others are: 1. Offer HBV vaccinations to all employees where potential exposure to blood and other bodily fluids is a substantial risk. %%
