a)   KILN ROOM - EMPLOYEE RIDES ON A CONCRETE HOPPER ELEVATED
APPROXIMATELY 6-8 FEET FROM FLOOR LEVEL BY A SHEPARD NILES
OVERHEAD TRAMRAIL OR BY A FORKLIFT TO POUR CONCRETE FROM
HOPPER INTO CONCRETE FORMS FOR MANHOLES AND STORM CATCH
BASINS EXPOSING THE EMPLOYEE TO A FALLING HAZARD.
AMONG THE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHODS TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD
IS TO:
1.   ELIMINATE EMPLOYEE FROM RIDING ON CONCRETE HOPPER BY HAVING
HIM WORK FROM FLOOR LEVEL WITH AN EXTENDED CONTROL LEVER OR
WORK FROM A PORTABLE LADDER STAND.
2.   INSTALL A HYDRAULIC OR PNEUMATIC GATE ON HOPPER WHICH COULD
BE OPERATED FROM FLOOR LEVEL BY REPOSITIONING CONTROL LEVER
ON HOPPER.
