Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) At the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport US Air Mail Sorting Facility; three employees were working from a stationary position bolting up structured steel at a level of twenty-two and one-half feet (22 l/2') above the ground for a continuous period of eighteen minutes (l8 minutes) and they were not protected from fall hazards; among other feasible abatement methods to use safety belts with lanyards.
