likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that
employees were exposed to an injury from an unintended actuation of
a foot pedal not protected by a guard:
(a)CNC Machine Department - An employee has operated a
Buffalo Universal Iron Worker, order number 54W7842, used
to punch, shear, and notch pieces. No means was provided
to protect the foot pedal from an unintended actuation by
a falling or moving objects or by someone accidentally
stepping on it.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD
TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO GUARD THE FOOT PEDAL.
