Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:
The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment
which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely
to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that
employees were exposed to being struck by vehicle:
(a)Marco, 1277 Manheim Pike, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Auto
Preparation Area - Employee(s) operation motor vehicles
between garages and inside shop areas have not received
driver safety training nor were there policies and
procedures implemented for vehicle transfer.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method
to correct this hazard is to develop a driver safety program and
develop policy and procedures covering such areas as, operating
speeds, checking for tools, equipment and other employee(s) working
in the area.ng
