Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries in the event there would be a hydraulic failure and the lift drop on them due to lack of appropriate safety locking devices: (a)Service Department, West Area - Employees use a Weaver automotive lift when servicing vehicles and the lift is not equipped with the required safety devices to prevent lowering of the lift in case of a hydraulic failure, this exposes the employees to a potential injury. (b)Service Department, North West Area - Employees use an Eagle automotive lift when servicing vehicles and the lift is not equipped with the required safety devices to prevent lowering of the lift in case of a hydraulic failure, this exposes the employees to a potential injury. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THE HAZARD IS TO PROVIDE THE APPROPRIATE SAFETY LOCKING DEVICES REQUIRED BY THE MANUFACTURE. VERIFICATION REQUIREDTION
