Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of
1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of
employment which were free from recognized hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees were exposed to:
a.crushing injuries due to employees operating defective
lifts with deficiencies such as, but not limited to,
heavy hydraulic leaks from the seals of the
cylinders/rams of lifts #2 and #6; the rear safety
catch (pole/bar) being stuck  on the hydraulic lift #4;
and the control button/switch or motor not operating on
the electric lift #5.
"AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT
METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS....."
a.Replace seals on the cylinders/rams on lifts # 2
and #6, repair the safety catch on lift #4; and
fix the control button/switch or motor to lift #5.
