5(a)1 a.Precast Parking Garage Under Construction - Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to multi trauma injuries from the collapse of precast double tees due to the lack of temporary support or bracing at the top of column C-1 to prevent movement. "AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD WOULD BE TO ADEQUATELY SUPPORT OR BRACE THE COLUMNS TO PREVENT MOVEMENT. b.Precast Parking Garage Under Construction - Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to multi trauma injuries from unsecured precast members such as the double tees which were not permanently welded / connected to help provide stability as the precast erection progressed. "AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO PERMANENTLY WELD THE DOUBLE TEES AS THE WORK PROGRESSED.
