Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The Employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a.On or about May 9, 2000, a truck crane located beside energized electrical power lines was operated by an employee who had not been tested by his employer either orally or by a written test as required by ANSI B30.5-1985 section 5-3.1.2(a). The operator was not capable of reading a load chart when asked by an OSHA inspector while investigating an electrocution involving the crane's tag line coming in contact with an energized overhead power line and electrocuting the employee holding the hook. One feasible means of correcting the hazard is to train the employee in the proper operating techniques. "ABATEMENT VERIFICATION REQUIRED"
