Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 9/11/97 at the Boynton Beach work site, employees were exposed to being struck by falling trusses due to continuous lateral bracing, cross bracing, and diagonal bracing not being installed during erection of the trusses. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be to ensure that the bracing recommendations found in the Truss Plate Institute's document BWT 76, Bracing Wood Trusses are followed. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
