Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: CKP Construction, Inc. was not following the Summary Sheet which includes commentary and recommendations for handling, installing and bracing metal plate connected wood trusses provided by the Truss Plate Institute and allegedly had one nailer on the last 6 to 8 trusses at the end of the building which collapsed during a gust of wind injuring employees. One feasible abatement method would be to: Follow the Summary Sheet commentary and recommendations for handling, installing and bracing metal plate connected wood trusses. No additional abatement information is required for this item.
