a.In Dept. 37, the Aro overhead hoist, No. 23 had no markings for each of
the
operational buttons on the pendant control.
b.In Dept. 34, the Cleveland Trumrail, overhead hoist, No. 13, had no
markings
on the operational buttons of the pendant control.
Feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard is to
comply
with the safe operating procedures recommended by ASME/ANSI B30. 16-1.1.2
such as (but not limited to):
Permanently mark the directional mode of the operational buttons on the
pendant
controls.al

capacity, was used to lift die
weighing in range from 400-1200 pounds, had a rating marked 250 lb.
capacity on the girder
of the hoist and on the motor of the hoist a marking of 1000 lbs.
Feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard is to
comply with the
safe operating procedures recommended by ASME/ANSI B30. 16-1.1.1 such as
(but not
limited to):
Contracting with a crane/hoist company to measure the capacity of the
hoist.ty

b.  In the Tool/Die Department, the Budgit overhead hoist, with a 1/2 ton
capacity was
used daily to lift die weighing in range from 400-1200 lbs.
Feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard is to
comply with the
safe operation procedures recommended by ASME/ANSI B30.16-3.1.2 such as
(but not
limited to):
Purchasing larger capacity overhead hoists to handle the higher capacity
loads.
