Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling, in that material was stored over a suspended ceiling beyond arm's reach from a safe work platform: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide a plan for safe removal of material including implements such as grab hooks to effect safe retrieval of items.val

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling, in that the ladder was obstructed by locked doors which had been installed on the ladder itself requiring an employee to use both hands to unlock the padlock while standing in an unsafe manner exposed to a fall to the floor below: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to remove obstruction from the ladder allowing safe access.g
