Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falling from an elevated platform: (a) Location: Main Church, Floor Level; On 10/1/96, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard of forty(40) feet from a scissor lift platform. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard includes, but is not limited to, insuring that access gates are closed and hitched per ANSI Standard A92.2 for vehicle-mounted elevating and rotating work platforms, and manufacturers instructions.
