Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a. Shop - On or about May 13, 1999, the hydraulic hoists in the shop were not provided with safety locking devices, thereby exposing employees to the hazards of being struck by or caught between the hoist and floor in the event the lifts mechanically or hydraulically failed. A feasible method of correcting the hazard is to conform to the specifications inferred in ANSI/ALIALOIM, Section 4.2, 4.4.4/1994.
