Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to multiple injuries from falling hazard when employees are elevated on platforms when used with a powered industrial truck and the platform is not secured to the lifting carriage and/or forks and was not provided with a standard guardrail system: a. Shop Area; the platforms/pallets were not secured to the powered industrial truck lifting carriage and/or forks and did not have a standard guardrail system. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement to correct this hazard would be to secure the platform to the lifting carriage and/or forks and install a guardrail system.il
