Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling during tree trimming operations: Employees of Green Team Tree Service were exposed to fall hazards during tree trimming operations as set forth in the following examples. Employees were not tied in until the work was completed and the employee returned to the ground. The recommendation for this practice is contained in ANSI Z133.1-1994, Paragraph 9.1.7. The long line was not positioned directly above the work or as close to such a position as possible. The recommendation for this practice is located in ANSI Z133.1-1994, Paragraph 9.1.3. The employer did not familiarize employees with the requirements in ANSI Z133.1-1994 as applicable to their job requirements. The recommendation for this practice is located in ANSI Z133.1-1994, Paragraph B.2.2. One feasible means of abatement is to develop a program following the recommendations and practices found in ANSI Z133.1-1994.ons
