Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in
that:
(a)At the worksite at the Greyhound Bus terminal at 606 North 7th Street,
Milwaukee, WI 53233, the two workers in the Snorkel articulating boom
platform
(self-propelled) were preparing for painting the south wall of the
building and had
no personal fall arrest system.  Among feasible abatement would be to
comply
with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A92.5 - 1992
Standard for
Boom-Supported Elevating Platforms and have employees wear fall arrest
equipment whenever they are in an aerial lift.  Without such protective
equipment
the workers were exposed to the hazard of falling to the concrete about 25
feet
below.
Certification, and documentation/evidence of abatement is required.
Certification of abatement is required by 29 CFR Part 1903 and is to be
submitted within ten (10)
calendar days after the abatement date.ment
