Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment that was free from a recognized hazard that was likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that signage indicated that employees could have been exposed to the hazards of ammonia. Abatement: Among others, a feasible and useful method to abte these hazards is to reduce the quanity of ammonia or implement programs and measures to prevent releases.
