Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being caught by rotating parts: (a) Maintenance Department, East End - Employees were using a Rigid 200 electric pipe threading machine which was not equipped with a constant pressure foot treadle control switch as required by American National Standards Institute B208.1-1982, section 4.4. which is one feasible and acceptable method of abatement. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
