(a)  Garage Area, Globe Auto Hoist/Lift - 8000 lb. capacity - No. 67801C;
The
following deficiencies existed relating to the automotive lift:
(1) The lift does not function properly in that it loses pressure and
descends,
(2) Inspections of the lift were not conducted,
(3) A maintenance program was not developed and implemented for the lift,
(4) The operator of the lift was not instructed in the safe use and
operation of the
lift.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to:
(a) Repair the lift to function properly,
(b) Develop and implement an inspection program, a maintenance program and
an operators training program in accordance with the following:  The
manufacturer's or its successor's specifications, ANSI standards,
Automotive Lift
Institute standards and specifications.
