Section 5 (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free of recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a fall hazard from a flat roof 18.4 feet above the ground. Worksite: On or about November 30, 1993, employees were exposed to fall hazards while removing sections of concrete from a flat roof 18.4 feet above the ground. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide safety belts and lanyard attached to a moveable lifeline stretched across the roof for employees removing concrete
