Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards of thirteen to fifteen feet: Job Site: New addition north entryway; employees were working on a steel canopy for the entryway and were not using personal protective equipment or an equivalent means to protect them from fall hazards. "Amoung other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to furnish and to require employees to wear personal protective equipment such as a body belt and a lifeline. An alternative method is to furnish and supply equipment such as ladders and/or aerial work platforms for employees to perform work in heights where fall hazards exist."
