Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:
The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment
which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely
to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that
employees were exposed to multiple injuries from a fall:
(a) First Floor - Three (3) employees laying decking on the New
Erection Area were not protected against falling at the leading
edge by the use of safety belts, nets, catch platforms or other
fall protection equip- ment, on or about April 7, 1993.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method
to correct this hazard is to provide and wear safety belt and
lanyard.
