Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a crushing hazard from the concrete barrier due to unsafe operating pratices: (a)Main Building - Employees were exposed to unsafe crane operating procedures due to the lack of effective training as required in ANSI B30.50. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure that all operators are trained in accordance with ANSI 30.5, 1968 to meet the designated operator criteria.
