Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to being stuck or hit by loads and/or hoist parts: MOLDING DEPARTMENT: 1. The last four (4) buttons of the pendant control box of the Cleveland Tramrail overhead under hung crane/hoist were not marked. ABATED DURING THE INSPECTION. 2.The Cleveland Tramrail overhead under hung crane/hoist was not equipped with bridge bumpers. 3.The last button of the pendant control box of the Overhead crane/hoist, unknown identification, was not marked. ABATED DURING THE INSPECTION. 4. An overhead crane/hoist, unknown identification was not equipped with bridge bumpers. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means to correct the hazard is to: 1. Follow the manufacturer's/owners manual recommendations. 2. Comply with ANSI/ASME B30.16-1993; Overhead Hoist (Underhung) guidelines for inspection, maintenance, and operations of the overhead hoists, Chapter 16-1, sections 2.1 - 2.6. 3. Utilize other engineering methods.
