Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to exposed to injury from falling reef trusses while they were being erected: JOBSITE: ROOF TRUSSES BEING ERECTED WERE HELD IN PLACE BY SHORT LENGTHS OF FURING STRIPS AND PIECES OF PLYWOOD. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD IS TO INSTALL ADEQUATE TEMPORARY LATERAL AND DIAGONAL BRACING DURING ERECTION OF THE ROOF TRUSSES. THIS BRACING SHOULD BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TRUSS PLATE INSTITUTE "HIB-91 SUMMARY SHEET" RECOMMENDATIONS FOR HANDLING AND INSTALLING WOOD
