were exposed to hazards associated with falling off a moving vehicle while
riding on the exterior
steps of a truck.
JOBSITE: On or about 3/6/02 a worker was observed standing on the exterior
steps of a moving
SNET Utility truck. The truck was moving in the opposite travel lane,
against oncoming traffic.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct the hazard is
to provide seats and seatbelts for all workers and require them to be
properly secured during
movement from one site to another.
